I'm off to Iceland! I'm going to be building things and climbing glaciers and sleeping in a tent.
We've had the first formal wear pictures of the Ashes! That's me, I'm gone until January 6th. (Or until the 19th December, depending on how badly it goes)

There is something very special about an Ashes series in Australia; it's the being up at 3am and being able to identify fellow fans by the fact they're mainlining coffee and look like death the next day.

My first Australian Ashes series (1997)I was living in Toxteth, Liverpool. I had no heating, ice on the inside of the windows, and wore four layers of clothing to bed. I can still recall the feeling of waking up at 3am, rolling over to find the hot water bottle and seeking out TMS playing quietly in the background to hear Jeff Thomson and Graeme Fowler commentating on an electric storm over the Gabba.

Sadly, since then I have had to let TMS go, (for being terrible, awful people) but I have replaced them with sky sports, a flat with central heating, and a team that wins things. Things are looking up.
