I really need a shot gun...

My job involves listening to older people and their tales of abuse at the hands of those that are supposed to care for them.

My job then involves trying to do something about it in a world where really no one gives a shit about their suffering.

Apparantly, my job also involves being the subject of complaints from abusers about my conduct. Conduct that is polite and patient even if these people deserve none of it.
