The art of not killing your siblings
Dec. 26th, 2005 12:05 amI have managed it for yet another year. All three of them are still alive, as is my mother.
I have arrived home to the peace and quiet of my little flat, laden down with presents and far too many carbohydrates.
Highlights include: my signed David Nykl photocard thingy (thanks
fringedweller), a large jar of Nutella and a book entitled "Is it just me or is everything shit?" This book is basically a literary version of my eternal internal monologue. It's one long rant about stupid things, convering among many others; Juice Drink, Ikea, Vernon Kay, doctors on daytime TV, The Daily Mail, Media Studies, George Lucas, homophobic christians and adult editions of children's books. About the latter it states: "Just because the train on the front is black and white rather than red, it doesn't suddenly become a harrowing Booker prize-winner called 'Harry Potter and the Genocide in Rwanda." I'm only disappointed it doesn't include an entry on women with prams or people texting whilst walking in the middle of the pavement. Maybe they'll be in next year's edition.
Oh, also I am now the proud owner of a t-shirt which says "2+2=5 (for extremely large values of two)" It's a maths joke! I have a t-shirt with a maths joke on it....I can't help but feel it's an irreversible step on the road to geekdom. Still, I'm fairly sure I'm quite far gone as it is.
Happy festive thoughts to everyone, if you don't celebrate it you can save them and apply them to a holiday of your choice.
