Bowling muscles *hurt*.

I have discovered this after playing cricket for only the fourth time in my life. akkrenskarin, writan_bur, and natalieleach89 were witness to my, as yet unindentified, bowling.

Because of the running part of bowling, I have declared myself opener of our imaginary cricket team, in part due to the glorious six I sent sailing onto the roof of the Annexe, prompting the photographer to ask us to move, but mostly due to the fact that I've perfected the cross-legged-lean-on-bat-whilst-standing-at-the-non-striker's-end part of the batting process.

I had a fantastic mini-holiday in Canterbury, despite Kent having somewhere more important to be and playing with a definite end-of-term feel. I ate cookies and watched cricket and met (and ate several desserts with) the lovely writan_bur. Also discovered that we have both met kitkat3979 thus proving what a small world it is.

The high point, with all due respect to akkrenskarin, natalieleach89 and writan_bur, was most definitely Geraint bowling. He even did special "bowl me! bowl me!" gestures on the boundary.

Oh, I totally agree, Geraint bowling was most definitely the high point!

And I doubt any of us have identified bowling actions. ;-)

Interested in a left-handed opening partner? I can only slog, though! ;-)

It's the trend for wicket keepers to open the batting, so you can definitely be an opener.

I thought the new trend was for them to be second change bowler? ;-) T&hough I'm sure I can manage that as well... not.

I even almost got batting gloves in London yesterday, but they were all right handed. *pouts*

Only very special wicket keepers get to bowl as well.

I can see I'm going to have to practice during the winter so I'm not shamed next year!
