I haven't got a name for my new cat. I've never had problems naming cats before, but NewCat has defied naming so far.

I've been calling him Sunshine, because he's that type of cat, but I really can't call him that because then at the vets they'll call "Sunshine" and people will snort.

I had a whole list of names. It was *planned*

1. Trescothick - This was the originally planned name, so that I could have opening batsmen cats. However, I'm not sure he's a TrescothickCat, despite living in cupboard.

2) McClaren - because he's all wide eyed and innocent and much faster than I thought he would be.

3) McKenzie - not for any particular reason, but McKenzie is an excellent cat name.

4) Morkel - because he's very young and keen and fast, but not always terribly accurate and exactly the kind of cat to find himself in the groundsmen's shed.

5) Herschelle - This is a bit of a surprise, but I think he may suit Herschelle as a name. He dashes and leaps and spent an hour and a half playing with a sponge scourer he found in the bathroom. And I would have opening bastmen cats, just not the ones I intended.

Non cricketing name suggestions are welcome, but these five are fantastic Cat names.

Are you suggesting that at some point in the past, Herschelle has amused himself for an hour and a half with a scouring sponge?

Herschelle's the type to be able to amuse himself with anything

If you do call him Herschelle you'll have to learn to pronounce it.
