And then, he just left him. He. Just. Left. Him. That is completely unforgivable. I don't care if he was scared, Lex was petrified. There is absolutely nothing Clark can do to make that right. Ever.

He could've stayed. Lex still would've been taken away, his secret wouldn't be blown because Lex still would've been crazy. But Lex would've known Clark was there.

He could've taken Lex with him.

He just left. And even if the tiniest part of me understands why Clark panicked and left, there is nothing to explain him sitting with Lana at the end.
