Although, I haven't watched 'Facade' yet...

I have to admit, I was scared to actually watch the tape of the first three episodes, in case it was all true. However, I was pleasantly surprised.

Lex was wearing a fantastic white suit, which pretty much sold it to me. (Shallow, me? )

Lionel and Lex were, as always, wonderfully Luthorian: “I wouldn’t miss this for the world, Dad”

*Wow*

Lex’s step into real darkness started here folks, and everyone was cheering him on. He doesn’t have a choice anymore: “Every sip of wine, Lex.” It’s not because he’s evil, it’s not because he’s insane, it’s because he wants to be alive tomorrow morning. Sooner or later that takes its toll, and people who don’t deserve it will receive it, but it started somewhere rational, sane and necessary.

I don’t believe this is the end of CLex or the beginning of the Rift. If it is I will shoot someone, but it has had ebbs and flows before, always making the moments all the more precious. Also, what can I say? I love my angsty Clex. I want to see them rip each other’s hearts out, and fall into incomplete pieces without each other: It’s all the more epic because of the tragedy. I don’t want fairytales; I want the Stuff of Legends

I didn’t object to Lois too much so far. There is a chemistry between her and Clark, which is an enormous relief after Lana. I’m withholding my overall judgement because I object to her meeting Clark before Metropolis, and I suspect she will be used at the expense of other, more important, characters (she is basically Chloe with less exposition), but I don’t detest her yet.

It wasn’t surprising Lana was dull and uninteresting; I can’t be annoyed by it any more. This episode really did sum up everything about Lana that I detest, and prove how little TPTB listen to criticism: She went to Paris to find herself, and what does she come back with? Another bloody boyfriend. So predictable; so alienating to every woman of sound mind.

I Don’t care about Lana, and I won’t care about Lana until she gets a decent script and an actual personality: Jaunty music won’t help; black clothes won’t help; random tattoos won’t help; KK learning another pouting facial expression won’t help; another fucking boyfriend won’t help; Giant pictures of Lex in the background do help, but I expect that has less to do with Lana and more to do with the fact I would be cheered during a nuclear holocaust if there was a giant picture of Lex in the background.

TPTB continue with their shameless attempts to attach Lana to Lex in an effort to get people to like her. It doesn’t work, and it is so blatantly obvious that it’s painful to watch. If they choose to use Lexana as an aspect of The Rift, it will ruin all the work they’ve done over the past three years, but that’s their problem.

To end on a brighter note, MR continues to speak in his pornographic voice in every Lana scene, so it’s very hard to pay proper attention. Maybe that was a ploy: “Michael, can you do that gravely voice, the one that makes every man and woman drift off into a happy place? That way they’ll be too busy imagining you fucking Clark to even notice Lana is in the scene.”

So, I shall brave Façade properly tomorrow

Ha! I've been doing that with all the US SV posts. I've come to the conclusion, though, that spoliers for SV seem to make the anticipation better rather than actually ruining everything. That's my excuse anyway.

I had to beg off a mailing list for the first three eps. One person stole my money and didn't send!
