All I had to do was decorate a christmas tree, you'd think it would be simple wouldn't you? Oh no.

I had to go and buy more lights.

I had to go and buy more tinsel.

I had to rearrange my stereo so I could use the extension cable to plug in the three sets of lights.

I had to empty all my cupboards so I could fit in the things I had to move to get the extension cable.

I had to take everything off the tree and start again as it didn't look right.

I had to cover my hands in hydrocortisone ointment as I'm allergic to Christmas trees.

I had to hoover three times.

Still, I now have a tree and that's the important thing.

As long as the tree looks good what's a little allergy?

I was going into town one year to do Christmas shopping and my mum asked me to buy tinsel. I couldn't find any that I liked except in House of Fraser. It was a little more expensive than the rest but looked really good. I'm no longer allowed to buy tinsel.

See, some people just don't understand the importance of tinsel. You can't just buy any old stuff.

We used to have some excellent tinsel that was just one big, flat piece of shiny silver foil cut into lots of strands. Sadly much of it is broken now and I've never seen any the same since.
