The Perils of Fandom Obsession

lemonbellaI love having a fandom to obsess about, don't get me wrong.
However, part of my obsession involves having to read everything that comes around (unless I recognise the author in advance). Sometimes this leads to the discovery of something fantastic, most often it leads to me going "Muh". Ocassionally it leads to something so terribly bad that I think about leaving the fandom.
There was a stuffed bear. In a totally non-ironic, non-Rodneyosaurus kind of way. A stuffed bear. With a name. And not a child in sight.
I'm not sure I'll be able to go near Wraithbait for the next few months, for fear of flashbacks.

Date: 2006-01-30 01:25 am (UTC)There were pirates, but not in any good or recognisable way. There was crying, and John sleeping with random women while Rodney supressed his pain at John's cheating. And crying, did I mention the crying?
And what's worse, I read the whole damn thing.
I'm just glad there's lots of great fiction in this fandom to make up for the awful stuff.
