I've decided to post more about cricket.
I appreciate that there is only one person on my friends list who will be vaguely interested, and then she has usually spent five days being subjected to my thoughts via text message. However, I've never done anything in order to be popular, and I am constantly frustrated by my inability to remember specific test matches, despite knowing that I've avidly watched every damn minute. Also, it should help to ensure I don't repeat the egregious mistake which led to me ignoring at least a year and a half of Geraint's test career.
In which…
England batted tremendously and then fielded horrifically, and the game petered out into a draw. Flintoff was as dull as Alec Stewart in his field placings.
Hoggard took his two hundredth wicket and then somehow resisted beating the slip catchers to death with his shoe.
Nasser Hussain revealed a more than heterosexual interest in Matthew Hoggard's hair cut.
Geraint took his hundredth test dismissal and TMS managed to refrain from criticising him for a full seven minutes.
Mahalar Jayawardene batted superbly and officially registered on my list of attractive cricketers.
Kevin Pietersen used the word inningses thus providing me with endless hours of amusement.
This was the test that brought us GeraintCam.
England 551-6 dec
Sri Lanka 192
Sri Lanka (following on) 537-9
bad light stopped play
Match Drawn
Yes, when I said I would be posting about cricket I didn’t actually mean insightful commentary. I meant thinly veiled gay sex references and an unhealthy appreciation for Geraint Jones.

Date: 2006-05-15 11:51 am (UTC)Whenever I'm feeling low I'm going to think of inningses, and possibly of Hoggard beating Andrew Strauss to death with a shoe. Cook can open instead and Bell can have his spot back.
If you ever need to reconstruct your Ashes watching experience, then I do still have the series of progressively more frantic text messages on my phone.
