Inningses

In which…

KP got that look in his eyes and dutifully scored 148. It included a left-handed sweep for six off Muralitharan. This, for the uninitiated, is absolutely astonishing.

England had an appalling batting collapse of 5 for 5, giving me flashbacks to the 1990s. They did that *all the time*, and never with a preceding KP hundred.

We had far improved captaincy from Flintoff and a reduction in general faffing about.

I began to draft my letter of complaint to TMS for being so utterly biased and mean about Geraint. Alec Stewart saved them from my ire this time.

The lunch time programme centred on the Edgbaston lunch lady offering people pudding. That says all you ever needed to know about cricket.

GeraintCam was sadly underused, especially since he was possibly wearing Hoggy's hat.

KP used the word 'negate' in its proper context, surprising us all.

If you're writing the Geraint letter, you'll have to make sure you do it this summer. Otherwise you'll be writing it at 2am in the middle of an Ashes test, and I may not be able to prevent you from including home-made explosives.

If I'm going to go to prison on terrorism charges, it may as well be for the International Front for the Defence of Geraint Jones.
