How can I possibly be this stupid?

So, I'm off to Canada at the end of the month, spending a week in Vancouver to end my trip. I have just discovered that the weekend preceeding my arrival there's a Stargate Convention. In Vancouver. The place where I am going to be two days later.
I have therefore missed my one and only opportunity to have a tour of the Stargate studios. I will never now have the chance to say "and we're walking" whilst on a guided tour and have people there at the time know why it's funny.
This is like when I picked to go to Hong Kong in February instead of October and then found out Geraint was playing cricket in Hong Kong in October.... It appears I'm making a bit of a tradition of arriving in places *just* after interesting things have happened.
